Don’t Lose Your CONFIDENCE

Don’t Lose Your CONFIDENCE
Subtitle: Confidence Lost? I Dropped Mine in the Fridge!

Confidence is like your phone charger. You don’t think about it — until it’s gone. And once it’s gone, everything feels slower, harder, and way more frustrating.

I’ve had days where I felt like the human version of a soggy french fry. No sparkle, no strength, and definitely no confidence. But here’s the thing I’ve learned (after some ice cream and a pep talk from my cat): you can get it back. And I’ll tell you how.

What Is Confidence, Anyway?

Confidence means you believe in yourself. It’s like an invisible backpack full of courage, kindness, and “I got this!” energy.

When I feel confident, I try new things. I raise my hand. I smile more. I don’t hide behind my hoodie (okay, maybe just a little — it’s comfy). But when my confidence drops? I feel small, quiet, and scared to speak up.

That’s why it’s so important not to lose it — and to know how to get it back.

Why We Lose Confidence

Let me tell you something: even the smartest, coolest people lose confidence sometimes. Yep, even superheroes (probably).

We lose confidence when:

  • We make mistakes

  • Someone laughs at us

  • We feel different or not good enough

  • Things don’t go our way

I once tripped in front of my whole class during a school play. My brain said, “Well, that’s it. Time to live under a rock.” But guess what? Nobody remembers it but me. (And maybe my teacher who gave me extra cookies.)

How to Keep Confidence Alive

Now let’s talk solutions. No magic spells here, but I do have a few tricks that really work.

1. Talk to Yourself Nicely

You know that little voice in your head? Make it your best friend.
 Say: “I can do this.”
 Not: “I’m such a mess.”
Even if you don’t fully believe it yet — say it anyway. Fake it till you feel it.

2. Remember the Wins

Think of a time you did something awesome. Passed a test. Helped a friend. Solved a puzzle no one else could.
Write it down. Make a “Victory List.”
Mine has things like “Didn’t cry during math class” and “Opened a banana without squishing it.”

3. Hang Out with Confidence-Boosters

Spend time with people who lift you up. Not the ones who laugh when you mess up. (No thank you, meanies!)
Even talking to one kind person can change your whole day.

4. Do Small Brave Things

You don’t need to climb a mountain. Just raise your hand once. Try something new. Say “hi” to someone. Each time, your confidence grows a little taller.

5. Don’t Be Scared of Mistakes

Messing up is normal. I’ve failed, flopped, and fallen — sometimes all in one day.
But mistakes are how we learn. Every time you fall, you get stronger when you stand back up. Like a rubber chicken. (Those things are weirdly tough.)

What Helped Me Most

Here’s my truth: I didn’t get more confident overnight. I practiced. I had silly pep talks in the mirror. I wrote little notes to myself. I failed. I tried again.

And now? I walk a little taller. Not because I never fall — but because I know I’ll get back up.

Final Thoughts (And a Cookie)

If you’ve lost your confidence, don’t panic. It’s still inside you. It’s just hiding behind doubt, fear, or that voice telling you you’re not enough. That voice is a liar. Don’t listen to it.

You are enough. You are strong. And you’ve got this.

Now go out there — and don’t forget your invisible backpack.

(Also, treat yourself to a cookie. You earned it.)
